How to Remove Metadata from your Photos

Metadata is a huge culprit when it comes to privacy online. Anything you create or post online has some kind of Metadata that can reveal a number of things about where this data is coming from. Metadata main purpose is to not reveal information about you but it’s their so the programs processing this information has an easier time understanding the data. But that doesn’t mean its not being exploited by big tech.

Here’s every way to remove metadata from photos on any device

iPhone: Use this link to convert all your photos to JPEG this removes any metadata for pictures you have taken.

Here’s how you can do this without the Shortcut, this can also be used on the mac.


Android: Install Imagepipe, Here is a link to their website.

Can be accessed through Sharemenu.


Windows: First: Win + R > “%appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo”

Next New File name “exiftool.bat”with: “exiftool -overwrite_orginal -all= %*”

Now you can right click and use Send to context menu.


Linux: Install mat2 then:

alias clean=’mat2 –inplace’
